Aschersleben/MZ/fge – The Alte Hobelei in Aschersleben will be completely green on Saturday evening. Saint Patrick – the patron saint of the Irish – was celebrated. In many regions of the world, Irish folk music is played and people sing, drink and dance at parties on St. Patrick’s Day, the Irish national holiday.

And so in Aschersleben the atmosphere was lively with Guinness and whiskey with music from F.misd from Staßfurt and Dead Man’s Hand from Leipzig. And at the latest with folk classics like Whiskey in the Jar or Rattlin’ Bog, the feeling of the Green Island finally found its way into the old brick walls.
The almost 400 visitors didn’t take long to ask and took over the stalls: dancing the pogo and singing along loudly, a polonaise through the hall – everyone seemed to be in a celebratory mood and so they celebrated Saint Patrick to Irish tunes until late into the night .
