The Democratic Unitary Platform, the main opposition coalition in Venezuela, has officially requested the National Electoral Council to publish the electoral schedule for the upcoming presidential elections on July 28. They have specifically asked for a three-day extension to nominate presidential candidates.
In a statement made on social media, the Platform expressed their frustration as they have not been able to officially nominate Corina Yoris as their candidate due to the looming deadline. The opposition had recently revealed that they had encountered difficulties in registering Yoris, with the deadline for submissions set to end on Monday.
As of Sunday, the CNE has not responded to the Platform’s request. CNN is currently seeking comments from the electoral council on the matter.
