Oslo Motor Show: enters into a unique collaboration:

Oslo Motor Show and Tons of Rock are two of the biggest festivals in Norway. Oslo Motor Show gathered almost 53,000 visitors last year – while Tons of Rock aims for 150,000 spectators during this year’s event.

Now the two will work together.

– The new collaboration agreement means that the Oslo Motor Show will have a strong presence at Tons of Rock. We have our own exhibition consisting of exclusive vehicles, a specially designed stand with activities and entertainment. We think this will hit the heart of many of the festival participants. The rock festival attracts a large number of audiences with a passionate relationship with both music, engines and vehicles, says project manager of the Oslo Motor Show, Tommy Larssen.

Store together

– When Metallica plays at Tons of Rock on 26 June, in front of tens of thousands of wild fans, we will make sure that the audience can also get a taste of the experiences that the Oslo Motor Show represents. Metallica’s vocalist, James Hetfield, is himself a passionate motor enthusiast, with a large collection of rare, historic vehicles, says Larssen.

It was not long ago that Elvis Presley’s unique convertible – one of BMW’s most expensive and most exclusive cars – was on display at the Oslo Motor Show.

– This received a lot of national and international attention, and is a type of attraction that brings us close to the target group that Tons of Rock also addresses.

RAW: Ferrari builds only 599 copies of the Daytona SP3 special model. It costs over NOK 20 million. This was exhibited at the Oslo Motor Show last year.

– Better experience

Co-founder of Tons of Rock, Mads Martinsen, is also very pleased with the new collaboration. He believes that the presence of the Oslo Motor Show will help make the annual music festival at Ekebergsletta in Oslo an even better experience for all audiences. At the same time, Tons of Rock will also be strongly present at the Oslo Motor Show:

– For us, the Oslo Motor Show is a perfect partner. We also want to look at other opportunities to use Norway’s largest meeting place for all motor and vehicle enthusiasts, to create exciting content that engages all visitors. Our common ambition is to create an even better rock festival and an even better motor festival, continues Mads Martinsen.

Enormous visitor growth

In recent years, the Oslo Motor Show has experienced an enormous increase in visitors.

In the autumn of 2023, the event thus gathered close to 53,000 visitors over the course of three days. Over 1,000 vehicles were on display.

Tons of Rock had more than 100,000 audiences in 2023 and is therefore aiming even higher this year.
