SAN JUAN.- The Special Investigations Bureau (NIE) has apprehended two individuals in relation to the murder of a man in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. Keli Joel Agüero and Frank Clinton Ramírez Mora are accused of killing Juan Carlos Cruz Alcántara, 29, in August 2023.

According to the NIE, Agüero and Ramírez Mora entered Puerto Rico illegally around four months ago. Interpol in the Dominican Republic stated that the pair fled to Puerto Rico in an attempt to escape from authorities in their home country.

The arrest of Agüero and Ramírez Mora was carried out in a joint operation involving agents from the NIE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service, Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP), and the Special Arrests Unit of the Puerto Police. More details on the case are expected to emerge as investigations continue.
