Payroll 2024: That’s what it’s all about
-
The new payroll book from the Economics Office of the Zurich Economic Directorate is here.
-
It provides a total of over 9,400 wage details for the three sectors of agriculture, forestry, production and services.
-
Whether it’s a recommended salary or an average salary, you can check whether your salary is appropriate or not.
The Swiss don’t like to talk about it. Especially in times of much-proclaimed inflation, he is even more interested in the wages.
In order to create a transparent overview of the wage ratios per industry, the 19 supporting cantons and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO have published a comprehensive wage book for the 15th time. It was compiled and published by the Economics Office of the Economics Directorate of the Canton of Zurich.
Big regional differences
On over 700 pages there are detailed surveys of local, occupational and industry-specific wages, as well as statutory minimum wage regulations. As in 2023, the differences between individual regions are visible (see graphic below, the more clearly the values are above or below 100, the greater the difference to the Swiss average).
The wage book shows the average wage across Switzerland for many professions. But how much should you actually earn? In the overview below you will find the nationwide wage recommendations or, if available, the wages according to the industry-specific collective employment agreement.
The overview is divided into the three sectors agriculture and forestry (I), production (II) and services (II). Can’t find your job in the overview? Then write in the comment column.
