Bisnis.comJAKARTA – PT Pertamina (Persero) decided not to adjust the price of non-subsidized fuel as of March 1 2024. Pertamina has held its fuel prices since February 2024.
Responding to this, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) emphasized that adjusting non-subsidized fuel prices is the domain of business entities.
“As long as he is [Pertamina] It’s still in the corridor and the territory is in the BBM business entity. “We don’t have any intervention,” said Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dadan Kusdiana when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Friday (1/3/2024).
Even though crude oil prices are trending upwards, Dadan believes that this will not have an impact on Pertamina at this time.
“I have the figures for Brent, once it was US$78/barrel, once it was US$83/barrel. If Brent is going up now, it’s not today. But we are clear about the rules of the game for going up and down, it’s in the business entity’s domain to adjust. ,” he said.
On the other hand, PT Pertamina (Persero) VP Corporate Communication, Fajar Djoko Santoso, said that the stable adjustment of non-subsidized fuel prices is the right of business entities which are regulated in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
“For the time being, there is no change in the price of non-subsidized fuel today, March 1 2024, so it is still the same as the previous price or the price in February,” said Fajar.
Fajar explained that as a company under the Ministry of BUMN, Pertamina certainly considers many aspects in adjusting fuel prices.
Announcement of the latest fuel prices at Pertamina public fuel stations (SPBU) is announced every 1st.
On March 1 2024, it was observed that there would be no increase in prices for gasoline at Pertamina gas stations. Non-subsidized fuel prices, namely the Pertamax Series and Dex Series, still have the same price.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the government had decided not to increase electricity tariffs and fuel prices until June 2024 at a cabinet meeting, Monday (26/2/2024).
Airlangga said that the government would again distribute subsidy spending to meet the energy needs of the community.
“Earlier it was decided in the plenary cabinet meeting that there would be no increase in electricity, no increase in fuel until June, both subsidized and non-subsidized,” said Airlangga to journalists at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Monday (26/2/2024).
To fulfill this policy, Airlangga emphasized that the government needs additional budget for PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT PLN (Persero) as providers of these two types of energy.
The government has planned to widen the deficit in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (2024) to meet this budget need. However, Airlangga did not mention how much his budget would require.
