Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The police are still investigating the motive for the suicide of the four victims who were from the same family at the Teluk Intan Tower Topas Penjaringan Apartment, North Jakarta, Saturday (9/3/2024).
Penjaringan Metro Police Chief Commissioner Agus Ady Wijaya said that at this time his party had not yet determined the motive for the family’s suicide.
The police have installed a police cordon around the incident to safeguard the investigation process. Officers are currently examining witnesses such as security officers, the victim’s family and others.
The police also checked the identity of the victim’s vehicle and cellphone.
“You will try to contact the people closest to the victim to trace the motive for this incident,” said Agus, quoted from Antara.
The police have not been able to confirm whether the motive for the suicide was due to debt or economic pressure.
“We cannot decide yet because we are still collecting evidence found on the victim’s body, the location of the incident and others,” he added.
Previously, a family consisting of a father, mother and two children died after jumping from the 22nd floor of the Teluk Intan Tower Topas Apartment, Penjaringan, North Jakarta on Saturday (9/3/2024) afternoon.
The four victims, namely a man EA (50), a woman with the initials AIL and two teenage boys with the initials JWA (13), and a teenage girl with the initials JL (16), allegedly jumped from the roof top of the apartment.
The bodies of the four were found by security officers on guard in the apartment lobby. According to security information, a loud bang was heard. They immediately approached and saw four bodies lying, then made a report to the police.
