Today, I am delighted to gather with Asian New Yorkers from the five boroughs to join family and friends to welcome the arrival of 4720 years of the Yellow Emperor of the Chinese Gregorian calendar. Celebrating Lunar New Year is also a great opportunity for New Yorkers of all backgrounds to stand in solidarity with our Asian brothers and sisters in the fight against Asian Americans caused by misinformation about COVID-19. Injustice and reaffirm our support for Asian Americans. I look forward to every way our vibrant Chinese community will further strengthen New York, and let’s work together to provide a better city for all.
