On Friday, Xabi Alonso confirmed that he will remain as manager at Bayer Leverkusen, after the Spaniard has been strongly linked with the coaching job at both Liverpool and Bayern Munich. According to the local newspaper Liverpool Echo, it is Sporting coach Ruben Amorim who is Liverpool’s preferred choice to take over for Jürgen Klopp now.
The Telegraph reports that the 39-year-old has a buyout clause of €15 million, which applies from the end of this season.
Bayern Munich must also look for new coaching options, and according to Kicker, the big club’s new first choice is current Austria coach and former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick. The 65-year-old has a long coaching career behind him in Germany, but he has never coached Bayern Munich before.

Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi and Germany’s current national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, claims Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg. Liverpool are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Egyptian winger Omar Marmoush if Mohamed Salah leaves the Merseyside club this summer, writes Spanish Mundo Deportivo. 25-year-old Marmoush has scored 15 goals in 33 games for Eintracht this season. Salah’s contract in Liverpool expires in the summer of 2025, and he has several times been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
