Last Thursday, February 22, the thirty-sixth edition of the Lo Nuestro Awards took place., a ceremony that took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami and featured the participation of around 200 national and international artists. Maluma, Karol G, Feid, Camilo, Silvestre Dangond and Shakira were some of the Colombians nominated for this version of the event that positioned ‘La Bichota’ as the artist of the year.
Although she did not attend the gala, the interpreter of ‘Tusa’, ‘Mami’ and ‘Mi ex was right’ was the Colombian singer with the highest number of awards during the night: the Paisa artist received six awards in the tour nominations of the year, album of the year and album in the urban genre for his hit ‘Mañana will be nice’. In fact, for the single ‘Una noche en Medellín remix’, ‘La Bichota’ received the award for remix of the year along with Ryan Castro.

Although Maluma received 14 nominations, the Paisa singer won five awards during the night and was named male pop artist of the year. In addition, he won, together with Carín León, the award for mix of the year for the musical hit ‘According to whom’ and, after this collaboration, the duo won the award for collaboration of the year in the male genre.

During the ceremony, more than a third of the awards were given to Colombian artists: Shakira won the award for song of the year and urban-pop collaboration of the year for her song with Bizarrap. In addition, she was named female pop artist of the year and together with Karol G she won the award for urban pop song of the year.
