President Xiomara Castro calls on the general population to mobilize on May 1, International Workers’ Day, in response to a call made by Manuel Zelaya, General Coordinator of the Libre Party. In a tweet, Castro urged supporters to join the mobilizations at a national level in defense of the working class and to show solidarity with the Free Party. Zelaya, who also serves as a presidential advisor, echoed this sentiment on social media, calling on party members to organize and accompany the working class on Labor Day. The call to action comes as part of ongoing efforts to resist and defend the rights of workers in Honduras.
