Prince William, thinner and with dark circles, speaks out about his father’s cancer and his wife’s operation

The last few weeks have been very hectic for the British royal family, which just a few days apart had to announce the temporary closure of the agendas of two of its most active members, King Charles III and the Princess of Wales, Kate. While both are recovering from their respective ailments, the monarch from cancer and the duchess from an abdominal operation, the bulk of the institutional weight is falling on the shoulders of the heir to the throne.

Prince William resumed his professional activities this Wednesday with two events that once again placed him in the spotlight. In the morning he attended the investiture of honors for 50 personalities and in the afternoon he attended a charity gala in London in which he spoke for the first time about the state of health of his father and his wife.

Very elegant, dressed in a black tuxedo, the prince wanted to show his best version even though it was evident that the circumstances were not easy and he looked thinner and had dark circles under his eyes. Close to the media gathered there, the prince thanked the many messages of support that both his father and his wife are receiving these days.

And using a sense of humor he took the opportunity to show that, despite everything, he is still a happy man. “It’s fair to say the last few weeks have had more of a medical focus. So I thought I’d come to an air ambulance event to unwind! ”He said, making those present laugh.

Already on the stage, he took advantage of the speech to send a new message of gratitude: “I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you. Also for the loving messages of support to Catherine and my father. Especially in the last few days. It means a lot to us,” she insisted.

And although his family could not be with him, the actor Tom Cruise was, with whom he was already seen publicly during the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, in 2022. The two took the opportunity to pose together in front of the cameras, remembering the meeting that they had months ago and once again squandering that complicity that was already in the news at that time.

While Charles III is recovering, his eldest son and heir is taking over some of his duties, since the British king’s current priority is to receive treatment and recover as best as possible. Something that Kate Middleton is also doing, who will not resume her official agenda until after Easter.
