A bill authored by deputy Coronel Fernanda (PL-MT) proposes the creation of a Unified Public Consultation Center for Criminal Records (Cucc).
The objective is that, from there, employers will be able to request a criminal record certificate from candidates applying for jobs.
The Center will allow the employer to request the criminal record of their candidate, as long as there is a basis related to the duties of the position offered, free of charge.
The project also provides that it will be prohibited to use the information obtained for embarrassment or any form of prejudice.
“The current scenario, which records an increase in crime in several states of the federation, increases the importance of carrying out unified consultations by employers as a tool for preventing crimes and strengthening the security of society”, explains the parliamentarian.
The project will be analyzed by the Public Security, Constitution and Justice, Public Security Citizenship, Combating Organized Crime, and Labor commissions.
According to information from Agência Câmara, the Center will make available, for example, information related to heinous crimes, rape, homicide, feminicide, domestic violence and crimes against minors.
The Cucc, if approved, will be built with information from the Justice systems and bodies responsible for public security. According to the project, institutions must provide this data frequently so that they are constantly updated.
