The demonstration promoted by the far right against the Islamization of Europe had initially been scheduled for Martim Moniz.

The Lisbon City Council banned the protest after the PSP’s opinion was known, which indicated a high risk of serious and effective disruption of public order and tranquility.

Group 1143, promoter of the concentration, went to the Lisbon Circle Administrative Court, which validated the municipality’s decision: not to allow the protest to take place.

But the far-right movement, which always stated that the demonstration would continue, opted for another area of the city.

The protest will take place between Largo Luís de Camões and Praça do Município under close surveillance by the authorities.
