PSS Sleman surrendered 0-1 to Borneo FC

Solo (ANTARA) – PSS Sleman surrendered 0-1 to Borneo FC Samarinda in the Indonesian League 1 match at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, Thursday night.

In the first half both teams attacked each other to score the winning goal.

In the 27th minute, PSS created a chance through Estaban Vizcara’s narrow shot targeting the left of the Borneo goal, while Irkham Mila’s shot in the 39th minute was blocked by Borneo goalkeeper Nadeo Winata.

Borneo FC itself often endangers the hosts but is always thwarted by PSS Sleman’s back row players.

In the second half the buying and selling attacks became fiercer, but PSS Sleman conceded in the 59th minute with a header from Cadenazzi who took advantage of Stefano Lilipaly’s dead ball kick from the left side of the field to make it 1-0 for Borneo FC.

Kim Kurniawan and friends tried to equalize until referee Erfan Efendi blew the long whistle.

PSS Sleman coach Risto Vodakovic Savic stated that his team had tried their best but still lost points.

“We have to come back from zero to give the team spirit to be able to put in a good performance, but I think the team is very good and continues to push for opportunities,” said Risto.

Meanwhile, Borneo FC Samarinda coach Pieter Egge Huistra admitted that he was not happy with his team’s performance in the first half, but thought his team played better in the second half.

“We are happy to be able to get three points over PSS Sleman,” said Pieter.
