Psychologists have repeatedly talked about “blue Monday”, more precisely the 16th, which is considered the most depressing day of the year, while people say that usually the month of January lasts like the whole year. Why is it like that? And why does Janura last forever for many?

Clinical psychologists Chloe Carmichael and Paulon Valin five reasons why January seems longer: post-holiday mood, cold and dark days, financial difficulties, returning to daily routines and the pressures of a new year – a fresh start for many.

Carmichael said hormones responsible for mood and happiness in the body can drop after the holidays are over.

“Therefore, after the holidays, there may be a feeling of exhaustion of the hormone for happiness,” psychologists point out.

During the “magic” of the holidays, people’s dopamine levels can rise as they spend more time with loved ones, eat delicious food and receive gifts. However, when levels drop in January, it can lead to fatigue, mood swings and depression. People who experience it often have symptoms start and end around the same time each year. Also, the dark and icy days are another reason why January seems to last so long.

To combat this, psychologists have offered several tips, including getting enough sleep, exercise is also helpful, as well as a new hobby. Simply, hang out, exchange opinions with your dear people.
