Russian President Vladimir Putin participated today on Red Square in the march of the so-called Immortal Regiment, during which the descendants of the fighters who participated in the Soviet war against the Nazis parade carrying photographs of their relatives. Putin marched showing a photograph of his father, who took part in the so-called Great Patriotic War.
The president had attended the Immortal Regiment’s march five times, from 2015 to 2019. Over the past two years, the event had taken place online due to the Covid epidemic. This year, Putin has once again joined the participants in the march in which the fallen and veterans of the Great Patriotic War are remembered, portrayed in hand, and which winds along Tverskaya Street towards Red Square. The president walked at the head of the march, carrying a portrait of his father, who fought on the front lines.
