Drug dealer Rafael Caro Quintero is one of the 10 most wanted drug bosses by the FBI. They caught him in Mexico.
The man is also accused by the United States of ordering the kidnapping, torture and murder of special agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Enrique “Kiki” Camarena in 1985. He is also said to be the co-founder of the cartel. Guadalajara drug and would currently run an arm of the infamous Sinaloa cartel.
The capture was disclosed by a US Navy source. According to the media, the incident took place in the northern state of Chihuahua.

Caro Quintero had been tried in Mexico and sentenced to 40 years in prison. In 2013, however, a Mexican court ordered his release on a legal quibble after he had served 28 years. The decision was later overturned by the Supreme Court of Mexico, but Quintero was already on the run.
The drug trafficker has a $ 20 million bounty on his head and has been described by the FBI as “extremely dangerous”.
The United States is now asking for extradition. This was stated by the American Secretary of Justice Merrick Garland, thanking the Mexican authorities for the capture.
