«Raid against the Houthis? Italy cannot participate in war actions without the approval of Parliament” – Corriere TV

«We signed a political declaration a few days ago of absolute condemnation of the attacks that the Houthis carry out on merchant ships crossing the Red Sea. We have always condemned the action of the Houthis, we participate with our Navy in the Atlanta operation in the Red Sea which guarantees the safety of maritime transport, there is another American and British initiative, we believe the defense on the American side is legitimate for As far as the safety of their ships is concerned, however, Italy cannot participate in war missions without Parliamentary approval.” This was stated by the Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Antonio Tajani, speaking to Tg2 Post, on Rai 2, regarding the US and UK raids against i ribelli houthi in Yemen. “We did not participate in the military attack against the Houthi rebels in Yemen because to participate in a war action you need authorization from Parliament”, Tajani then reiterated.
