Remo wins a draw with Amazonas and guarantees a place in the semi-finals of the Copa Verde

On Saturday night, the Copa Verde met its first semi-finalist. Remo drew 2-2 with Amazonas and guaranteed a place in the next phase. In a game held at Arena da Amazônia, Barbio (2x) scored the goals for the home team, while Ytalo and Sillas left everything the same for the visiting team.

As a result, the aggregate score of the match ended 4-3 for Remo, who had already won the first match 2-1. Now, the team from Pará awaits the definition of their opponent in the semi-final. Manaus and Paysandu face each other this Sunday, starting at 5 pm (Brasília time), at the Curuzu stadium, in Pará.

Now, Amazonas returns to the field for the fifth round of the second phase of the Amazonense Championship. The team visits Unidos do Alvorada this Tuesday (26), at 4:45 pm, at the Carlos Zamith Stadium.

Remo, before the semi-finals of the Copa Verde, will face the first game of the semi-final of the Campeonato Paraense against Tuna Luso. The ball rolls this Thursday, at 8 pm, with the location yet to be defined by the Pará Football Federation.

The game

Amazonas opened the scoring just four minutes into the game. After a beautiful throw, Sassá was unable to dominate, but gave a great header to William Barbio. The number 19 arrived hitting hard inside the area and scored the team’s first goal at the Arena da Amazônia.

With 10 minutes, Amazonas arrived in danger again. Rafael Tavares found a great pass for Sassá, who fired quickly. The center forward invaded the penalty area and escaped the goalkeeper, but lost too much angle and shot weakly, far from the direction of the goal.

In the 28th minute of the first half, the home team continued to press and almost extended their advantage. Rafael Tavares crossed and Sassá arrived to try to push it into the back of the net, but the ball ended up on the crossbar and went through the baseline.

And it was in the 35th minute that Amazonas scored the second goal. Guilherme Mantuan made a beautiful pass to Patric, who overtook on the right side. The full-back crossed low and Barbio appeared at the second post to score his second goal of the match.

Right around the break, Remo started to slow down. After a free kick from Matheus Anjos, Sillas scored a header and Ytalo, who had just entered, found the net. However, the linesman was caught offside by Sillas and the goal was disallowed.

With 10 minutes, the Pará team actually managed to score. Nathan advanced on the left side and crossed into the area. The ball was deflected and fell to Ytalo, who shot low and reduced the score to 2-1.

And Remo pressed and managed to get a draw. In the 44th minute of the second half, when the duel was already heading towards penalties, Kelvin took a risk from outside the area and goalkeeper Edson Mardden palmed it away. In the remainder, Vidal crossed low and Sillas appeared alone to qualify Remo to the semi-finals of the Copa Verde. Amazonas still tried to put on some final pressure, but were unable to take the match to penalties.
