The first toll of the shooting at Perm State University in Russia where a man broke in and opened fire on students and professors is at least eight dead and a dozen injured. This was reported by the Russian Interior Ministry. The Perm University killer had barricaded himself in a classroom and put up armed resistance: “he was neutralized”, the Russian media announced, after the news of his arrest was initially given.
The assailant of the Perm campus would have been identified – reports the Telegram Bazn channel considered close to the security agencies – as Timur Bekmansurov, 18, enrolled in the first year of law. Bekmansurov, according to the Perm news site, allegedly left a Facebook post before taking action in which he anticipated the attack and the motives. “It wasn’t a terrorist attack. I am not a member of extremist organizations. Nobody knew what I was going to do. I organized everything by myself », is the text of the post.
