Valoriza SA will have more than 50 workers to operate in the main celebration areas such as the area around La Noria and García Sanabria Park.

The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the concessionaire company Valoriza SA, will reinforce the cleaning service staff to carry out intensive work in the areas where the main events of the May Festival will take place.

The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, thanks the workers for their efforts to keep the city’s streets clean and remembers the necessary collaboration of citizens. “The reinforcement of cleaning will allow the streets to return to normal as soon as possible after the celebration of the different events, but it is important that citizens collaborate by generating the least amount of waste possible.”

The Councilor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, explains that, with respect to personal means, the service will have more than 50 workers, who will provide a service adapted to the needs of the city center during the month of celebrations. “We have a commitment to the maintenance of our streets, that is why, in each mass event we try to act quickly to return the streets of Santa Cruz to normal,” he says.

The service will be reinforced, in terms of mechanical means, with sweepers, flushing cisterns, pressure washers and waste collectors, among other specialized vehicles. In parallel, and with the aim of making it easier for citizens to dispose of their waste correctly, ecological islands will be installed with containers for packaging, paper and cardboard, rest and organic waste that will be located in the interior avenues of García Sanabria park.

Specifically today, the festival of the Cross, the Ramblas and Tinajas promenades also had organic and solid urban waste containers, as well as a special cleaning device that will operate in areas where crosses are installed, such as around schools and neighborhood associations.

Councilor Carlos Tarife points out that although special emphasis will be placed on cleaning areas such as García Sanabria Park, Plaza de La Candelaria and La Noria, where greater crowds of residents and visitors are expected, the service will also be reinforced in others. points of the municipality such as Almáciga.
