Alex Fiva has a little revenge. Downgraded last weekend in Alleghe – although he had finished third – following a collision with an opponent, the Grisons veteran (38 years old) won the 33rd podium of his career on Saturday in Bakuriani (Georgia) and thus falls 21 points behind Canadian Reece Howden in the general World Cup rankings.
The only representative of the Swiss delegation to qualify for the final, the 2021 world champion took third place in a race won by the Swede David Mobaerg, ahead of the German Felix Wilmsmann. The Saint-Welsh Jonas Lehnerr (34 years old) and the Bernese Ryan Regez (30 years old) participated in the small final (5th and 8th).
Among the women, in the absence of Vaudoise Fanny Smith injured in her thumb, three Swiss women were present in the quarter-finals among the eleven skiers competing. Talina Gantenbein (25 years old) is the only one to have qualified for the grand final. Unfortunately, the Grisonne fell and was unable to finish her round. Victory went to Canadian Marielle Thompson.
The Helvetians still managed a nice group shot since the Genevan Sixtine Cousin (5th) and the Saint-Galloise Saskja Lack (6th) appear in the top 6.
