After Cortina, Lara Good-Behrami is also confirmed a Kronplatz. The Swiss won the giant slalom World Cup on the Erta slope in San Vigilio di Marebbe. A real domination by Gut-Behrami who finished the race with more than a second ahead of the New Zealander Robinson and Swedish Hector, second ex aequo. With her fifth victory of the season (the 42nd of her career), the Swiss is now less than one hundred points away from Mikaela Shiffrin in the overall World Cup ranking. The best of the Italians was Sofia Goggia, fifth thanks to an extraordinary second run. For the Bergamo area it is the return to the top 5 in giant slalom six years after third place in Kranjska Gora in 2018. Goggia finished 6 hundredths ahead of Brignone, eighth. Goggia: “Fifth place which is worth a lot”
Goggia is satisfied and rejoices with the result, the result of a journey with her coach, Luca Agazzi: “I had never been able to express myself with the freedom I had today, without the fear of making mistakes and just pushing. The weekend races in Garmisch are cancelled

After last weekend’s critical conditions in the men’s races, the FIS canceled the downhill and super-G due to high temperatures registered in Bavaria. The high temperatures will also affect the men’s weekend in Chamonix, in France, where the two downhill races were cancelled. Only the slalom remains on the calendar, scheduled for Sunday. The women will return to the track on 10 and 11 February in Soldeu (Andorra) for a giant slalom and a slalom.
