The Russian retreat from Snake Island is the first strategic achievement achieved by the latest wave of Western weapons delivered to Ukraine. The Harpoon anti-ship missiles and Himars long-range rockets have simply made it impossible to defend the Island, which has no underground bunkers or fortifications: any vehicle deployed from Moscow has become a target with no hope of survival.
