Yamanote Line “E235 Series” (provided by JR East)

At around 5 p.m. on the 12th, a passenger who got off the Yamanote Line inner loop (11 cars) at JR Shibuya Station (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo) reported to station staff that there was a small animal that looked like a snake. According to JR East, in response to the report, operations at Komagome Station (Toshima Ward) were suspended. After searching for about 15 minutes, no small animals were found, and at around 6 p.m., the train resumed operation with 10 vehicles and no passengers. No injuries have been confirmed.

Later, a company employee searching the train depot near Osaki Station found the snake under the seat. I reported it to Shinagawa Police Station.

According to the police, the snake is about 20 centimeters long. They plan to release the animal back into the wild after confirming that it is not toxic. This affected a total of about 2,700 passengers on the Yamanote Line.
