According to market rumors, Su Qing will be transferred to the position of CTO of autonomous driving established by Volkswagen in China, and will join the company with a team of 400-500 people from Huawei.
Su Qing is known as the “soul man” of Huawei’s automotive intelligent driving. He has served as the chief architect of the terminal at Huawei and the technical expert of the director of Huawei’s intelligent driving product department. However, in July 2021, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei signed a dismissal order due to the inappropriate remarks that Tesla’s autopilot “killed” and entered Huawei’s internal “reserve team” on standby.
In May 2019, Huawei established the Smart Car Business Unit, the Smart Car BU.
