Non-profit support for sport
Over the years, charity auctions have developed into an important pillar of sports aid when it comes to raising funds for local athletes. “Through our network, but above all through the solidarity we practice in sport – as the current example with SK Sturm Graz impressively shows – we are always able to offer extremely attractive and sought-after exhibits and money-can’t-buy experiences for the good “To auction off for the purpose,” said Sporthilfe managing director Gernot Uhlirwhich promises that “every euro raised through the storm jersey auction will end up in the account of one of our athletes.” This is made possible on the one hand by the cooperation with the auction platform United Charity, which waives additional costs, as well as by the Main partnership with the Austrian Lotteries, whose great commitment covers the organizational costs of Sporthilfe.
“Our mission statement says ‘SK Sturm draws strength from its tradition and regional roots. It is a club that sees itself as a football ambassador for Graz, Styria and, in international appearances, for the whole of Austria. The athletes supported by Sporthilfe represent our region and our country in international competitions, just like we do Andreas Schicker, Managing Director of Sports at SK Puntigamer Sturm, “Football is in a privileged situation and that is why it is natural for us to also think about other athletes. I am very pleased that we can help by auctioning our jerseys. I invite all Sturm fans to step up their game!”
Treat for football fans
Collaboration with football clubs and the ÖFB is already a tradition for Sporthilfe. Managing Director Uhlir: “These auctions also show the solidarity of football fans with local athletes. I can promise football fans that there will always be attractive exhibits such as the storm jerseys, but also exclusive trips to the big stadiums in Europe to top clubs.”
