The former “Tagesschau” presenter Franz Fischlin does not regret his departure from Swiss television SRF. The 61-year-old said in an interview that he was happy about the step into self-employment.

Since retiring as a TV presenter, Fischlin says he has been working more. He started his passion project almost seamlessly after his last broadcast.
His new area of work is called «YouMedia», a project to promote media literacy among young people. «I deal with it almost every day. Even on vacation.” The best tips for his new job are his three children.
Franz Fischlin says he spent more time with his family after leaving television. The Bernese is married to SRF culture director Susanne Wille. The couple has three children together.
«Since I am self-employed, I can organize my free time and working hours better. Now I no longer miss the piano concert or the volleyball match between my two sons and my daughter,” says Fischlin in “Blick”.
