Stan Wawrinka (ATP 67) will not have fond memories of his trip to South America. Eliminated in the second round in Buenos Aires, the Vaudois fell at the start of the ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro against Facundo Diaz Acosta (59) 7-5 6-4.

He tried to continue the match before giving up after two plays. “I was in pain. It was impossible to continue,” said the Spaniard. “I didn’t want to aggravate the injury.” Victorious in this tournament in 2022, Carlos Alcaraz will be determined on the nature of this injury after an MRI.
