Stephan Pelger hanged himself, the 44-year-old fashion designer was found by a neighbor. The death was confirmed on Thursday by the law enforcement officers who went to the scene of the tragedy. Stephan Pelger came out, a few months ago, from the rehab clinic where he entered voluntarily. He suffered from chronic insomnia and depression.
“Str. C-tin Chiritescu, police station 8, Male, 43 years old, found hanged by a neighbor. The death was confirmed. The victim is a public figure-fashion designer”, announced the police.
“On June 8, 2023, the police officers of the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest – Section 8 were alerted, via 112, about the fact that a deceased person was found in a house in Sector 2. The police went to the scene, as well as a medical team that confirmed the death of the person.
In order to establish the causes and conditions in which the death occurred, the investigations were taken over by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court and the Homicide Service. The lifeless body is to be transported to the INML in order to carry out the necropsy”, reads the statement issued by the Capital Police.
Stephan Pelger was hospitalized for the first time at the age of 10. “I have suffered from depression since I was 10 years old. The first time I was in a psychiatric center was when I was 10 years old, here in Romania. Then at the age of 21 in Vienna, then at the age of 34 in Munich and now here, near Bucharest. Depression is a disease we don’t talk about. (…) Nothing worked, the medicine was very outdated. The fix takes a lifetime, but I lost control”, admitted some time ago, the fashion designer.
Cătălin Botezatu’s reaction
“OMG. I don’t know why he could have done that. Two or three weeks ago he was very happy. She went to the doctor for a hair implant. He wanted to look very good. I really don’t understand what made him do this crazy thing. He was not a depressed type. He had his moments, but not so bad that he would do things like that. He often went to his family abroad, there he recharged his batteries. I really don’t know what happened. I don’t understand. I am not a follower of this gesture”, declared Cătălin Botezatu.
