The fall of Afghanistan into the hands of the Taliban is pushing thousands of people to seek a way out of the country, while the states of the region lock their borders. Greece announced yesterday that it has completed the construction of a 40-kilometer, 5-meter high wall at the border with Turkey. The decision to extend the fences along the Evros River, on the eastern border, had actually already been taken by the Athens government last October.
