In an interview for MedonetDr. Eva Drozdovič-Jastžebska, psychiatrist and specialist at the Clinic for Sleep Disorders, talks about habits that destroy our sleep.

What should we not do to sleep well? A sleep disorder clinic specialist has an important recommendation for all coffee lovers. “It is not recommended to drink caffeine in the evening. Drinking coffee in the afternoon can worsen the quality of sleep. People who have trouble sleeping should drink their last coffee no later than 12 o’clock. However, other people, including those who do not have problems with sleep, they should avoid caffeine consumption after 4 or 5 pm“, explains Dr. Eva Drozdovič-Jastržebska.

“It should also be noted that it is important to avoid large meals in the evening. It is believed that the last meal should be eaten no later than two or three hours before bedtime. However, our body needs energy at night and dinner should be carefully planned. This meal should contain proteins and complex carbohydrates, and it is better to avoid simple sugars that can cause fluctuations in insulin and glucose levels at night,” says the expert.
