Students begin to receive the first installment of the Nesting Program

A ceremony at Palácio do Planalto, with the participation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, this Monday (25), will mark the beginning of payments to the Pé-de-Meia Program, from the Ministry of Education (MEC). The event starts at 10am. The deposit of the single installment of R$200, related to the Enrollment Incentive, will occur in a staggered manner, depending on the month of birth of the students.

· March 26: students born in January and February;

· March 27: students born in March and April;

· March 28: students born in May and June;

· April 1st: students born in July and August;

· April 2: students born in September and October;

· April 3: students born in November and December.

According to the MEC, the Enrollment Incentive will be credited to digital accounts automatically opened by Caixa Econômica Federal in the name of students.

If the public high school student covered is a minor, their legal guardian will need to authorize them to operate the account, to withdraw money or use the Caixa Tem app. This consent can be made at a Caixa bank branch or via the Caixa Tem app. If the student is 18 years old or over, the account will already be unlocked to use the amount received.

The incentive is paid only once a year, even if the student transfers enrollment between schools or education networks in the same academic year.

However, the student who left school and returned to study or who failed that grade will be entitled to the Enrollment Incentive for the respective grade only once more, during the period of their stay in high school, explains the MEC.

Sending information

To deposit this first incentive, the MEC will be based on information sent by the education networks of municipalities, states and the Federal District between February 29th and March 8th of this year, through the Present Management System (SGP), as foreseen in Law 14,818/2024.

Failure to share information about students enrolled in the respective education networks may impact the payment of incentives for the period in which the information was not shared.

For those who are not included in this first period, the MEC informs that if corrections and updates to information regarding enrollment are made by public secondary education networks between March 9th and June 14th, payment of the Enrollment Incentive may be done by July 1st.
