“Women’s rights regressed”

The president of the lower house of the French parliament, Jael Bron-Pive, will organize on Wednesday and Thursday the first Summit of presidents of parliaments, in which at least 25 of her colleagues should participate, just before International Women’s Day on March 8.
“The initiative arose from the observation of President Bron-Piva, that there is a decline in women’s rights, or even their questioning”such as the right to abortion in the US and Poland, her environment said.
The right to abortion should be included in the French Constitution on Mondayafter the planned vote in both houses of parliament.
The summit will be an opportunity to send “a strong message to the world about the protection of women’s rights”, added associates of the president of the lower house of the French parliament.
Unlike many countries where abortion rights are being curtailed, France will on Monday become the first country to include voluntary termination of pregnancy in its Constitution.
That issue has the approval of public opinion there.
The decision in the USA in June 2022, to cancel the decision protecting the possibility of abortion at the federal level, had a great resonance and was condemned in the French public opinion, but also in political circles.
