Switzerland speeds up the procedures for changing sex: just report to the municipality

LUGANO – The Swiss, which has a long male-dominated tradition especially in its rural areas, is rapidly changing. In 2019 a transgender lieutenant colonel, Christine Hug, assumed command of an army battalion, from the next January 1st just go to thecivil status office of one’s municipality to change sex. This was decided in October 2020 by the Federal Parliament.
