Switzerland wins ESC 2024 – all winners and losers

The Swiss act Nemo won the ESC 2024 with the song “The Code”.

In the end it got exciting again: Switzerland won the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö. Nemo clearly won the race with the song “The Code”.

In total, Nemo received 591 points. In the jury’s evaluation, Switzerland was the clear favorite with 365 points, but the televoting almost turned the matter into a crime thriller. In the end, Nemo was able to prevail against Croatia (547 points) and Ukraine (453 points, 307 of which were from the audience).

Nemo follows Celine Dion

It is the first win for Switzerland since 1988 – when Céline Dion, actually Canadian, won the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland – by just one point.

Germany comes twelfth

Things were far less bad for Germany than feared. While the last few years have always been fobbed off with the bottom places, Isaak’s song “Always On The Run” managed to reach 12th place – and 117 points (41 of which were awarded by the jury).
