Sinopsis Film Beyond the Reach
Quoting from the IMDb page. synopsis of the film Beyond the Reach focuses on following the character Madec (Michael Douglas). It is said that he was a wealthy businessman who wanted to go hunting in the Mojave Desert. His wish was realized by hiring a local guide named Ben (Jeremy Irvine).
As a young and skilled person, Ben will be tasked with guiding Madec through the barren Mojave Desert and on a hunt. The hunting trip apparently surprised Ben. Madec likes to shoot his gun at random points. This made Ben realize that Madec was an amateur hunter.
Unexpectedly, Madec shot at the wrong target by accident. Initially he suspected that the target was the desert sheep he was targeting. However, it turned out that the person who was shot was an old man who lived in the area.
Instead of taking responsibility for what he did, Madec actually intended to “wash his hands” so that he would not be blamed for the incident. He feels arrogant because he has wealth and power, so he can easily do anything to make this happen.
Madec also tried to make an offer to Ben to get out of this predicament. He promised to give Ben a large amount of compensation in exchange for remaining silent.
All Ben had to do was walk out of the desert without wearing shoes or clothes. This situation made Madec think that Ben would soon die of dehydration, before he could return home. Madec deliberately remained standing near his car to watch Ben from a distance using his binoculars.
At first Ben followed Madec’s orders obediently. Until finally, when he couldn’t stand walking in the middle of the barren desert any longer, Ben tried to escape because he realized that Madec was watching him from afar. This situation made Madec try to chase Ben. So, will Ben survive?
