Private Division and Wētā Workshop Game Studio, the videogame branch of the famous film studio behind the Lord of the Rings trilogy, have announced off Tales of the Shireand hobbit life simulator set in JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth universe.
Expected towards the end of 2024, Tales of the Shire will see us take on the role of a Hobbit in the enchanting village of Lungacque, while we relax among breathtaking pastures, visit the local shops run by the locals or enjoy a second breakfast. Our aim will be to help the community unite and become a true village, hosting the best Waterfront festival the Shire has ever seen.
We will be able to create and personalize our hobbit with a range of options to fully experience the universe of Middle Earth in our own way, furnishing a comfortable hobbit house, choosing from a series of furniture and decorations to create a unique and humble home. We can then explore Lungacque to experience cooking, fishing, foraging, gardening and other relaxing activities in the Shire. We will cast bait into the sparkling waters of the Pozza di Lungacque to catch trout, we will search for wild mushrooms and use the ingredients collected to prepare a succulent mess to serve to diners. With full bellies, we will walk around the Shire, forming relationships with the inhabitants of Lungacque, helping them to arrange the garden, sharing one of the Hobbits’ many daily meals and much more.
We leave you with the announcement trailer and a set of images.
