The Cliff of Suicides from Agropoli comes a new horror film made in Italy

The official version of La Scogliera dei Suicidi arrives, the horror graphic novel published by Lo Scarabocchiatore Edizioni, written and scripted by Andrea Cavaletto comes to life through the drawings of Marco Bianchini and his team, Asciolla and Nicusanti whose preview reached sold out to its presentation at Lucca Comics and Games in just two days.

The Suicide Cliff tells us the story of Mirko Leo, known to all as Uncle Lò, is the founder of the Lo Scarabocchiatore cultural association, to promote the ninth art, of which he is a fervent enthusiast.

Sinking into a period of depression due to the death of his beloved mother, he contemplated suicide. It was precisely on the cliff of Agropoli that, about to throw himself, he was saved by a vision in which the nymph of legends revealed herself to him in the guise of his deceased mother.

Now that Mirko has regained control of his life, he feels that his land is in danger, as if, for some obscure reason, the protection of the wonderful mermaid had vanished. Black clouds full of dark omens gather over Agropoli, while some local inhabitants, overwhelmed by horrible visions of monstrous sea creatures, take their own lives, bloodying the cliff with their shattered bodies.

Mirko, with the help of his loved ones and the entire community of The Scribbler, will have to solve the mystery of the nymph’s disappearance before Evil takes over.

The official edition maintains the 16×21 cm format, presenting itself in a format that makes it perfect as a Christmas gift: paperback with double cover, one of which in color created by Massimiliano Frezzato and the other in black and white created by Lola Airaghi. The two exceptional covers are but a taste of what they contain. We are talking about almost eighty pages, compared to the fifty of the stapled version presented as a preview in Lucca, or almost thirty more pages of in-depth analysis and extra content, but let’s see
better how everything is structured.

The task of being a host to the story was fulfilled impeccably by Milo Manara who took care of the preface of La Scogliera dei Suicidi, while to greet us we find the afterword by Loris Cantarelli.

In addition to the title page created by Giancarlo Olivares to embellish the volume, dedicated illustrations produced ad hoc by Davide Furnò, Giancarlo Olivares and Giampiero Casertano await you. Images and words follow one another, skilfully alternating like this, between layout and storyboard. Before letting yourself be overwhelmed by the story, an in-depth study linked to the legend of the Green Queen of Agropoli awaits you; legend that inspired Andrea Cavaletto.

A Deluxe variant includes the addition of a numbered 22×32 cm soft touch folder containing a preface written by Lorenzo Barberis and the exclusive prints created specifically for La Scogliera dei Suicidi by: Massimiliano Frezzato, Davide Furnò, Lola Airaghi, Giampiero Casertano, Giancarlo Olivares and Alessandro Nespolino.

The publishing house Lo Scarabocchiatore Edizioni also carries the essence of the association in the products that arise in the editorial context and just as alongside Marco Bianchini in the development of the tables we find the two sure promises of comics which materialize in the names Pietro Nicusanti and Giuseppe Asciolla, similarly the cover of the folder features the illustration by Fabio Forebello, the winner of the contest which ended on the 30th
November 2023 and specifically announced to include one of the artists participating in the contest among the big names.
