The crisis in Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed swears as prime minister after the victory in the elections

ADDIS ABEBA – Abiy Ahmed today he was sworn in for his first five-year term as premier of Ethiopia. His new party, the Prosperity Party, achieved a landslide victory in June despite the exclusion of four Federation states from the vote.

Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2019 for the end of the war with Eritrea, Abiy raised great hopes for reform in the African country when he became prime minister in spring 2018.
