When in 2017, the writer and also actress, Robinne Lee released the book The idea of you (The idea of you, in Spanish) it generated a female movement of those who in their fantasies had idealized romance with a music star. The topic became very popular and a fan base related the book’s love story to that of Harry Styles, the former member of One Direction, and actress Olivia Wilde, 10 years his senior.

The truth is that this “supposed” romance occurred in 2020 and the book was written 3 years earlier. The author told North American media that this story was never inspired by any romance with Harry Styles, but rather that its basis is “a woman approaching her 40s, reclaiming her sexuality and rediscovering herself, right at the point where society traditionally They dismiss women as desirable and viable and complete.”

Of course, she acknowledged that both Harry Styles and Prince Harry served as inspiration for the creation of the male character in the novel, which was based on her personal experience of a relationship with a man younger than her.

From that book, which was a youth reading success, was born the film that Prime Video premieres this Thursday, May 2, The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.

The author of the book is also involved in the film as a co-writer and together with Jennifer Westfeldt they wrote the adaptation.

In real life Anne Hathaway is 41 years old and Nicholas Galitzine is 29, the idea was to find the perfect couple to tell this story and seeing the reaction that the film has generated, which has already been released in the United States, the choice was ideal.

Galitzine specified, in an interview provided by Prime Video for EL COLOMBIANO, that the chemistry between both actors was very organic. “We built a friendship during pre-production, we texted a lot and were really getting to know each other as people. Then when you finally act in those kinds of intimate moments, if you already feel close to someone, you can do it easily and I think we tell a really amazing story in those intimate moments. We tell one of feminine pleasure, which is often relegated in films like this. “I think we had the same goal and we are friends, so it made it very easy.”

In the film, the story centers on Solène, a 40-year-old single mother who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of the most popular boy band on the planet: August Moon.

Hathaway defines this film as a love story: “It is about a woman who recovers from this terrible trauma that her ex-husband put her through when he broke her heart. And the story is, in a way, about how she finds her heart in a new way with this wonderful person who comes into her life named Hayes Campbell.”

Regarding the experience of singing and dancing, Galitzine says that getting involved with the other boys in what was a boy band was very enriching. “We were all together in the same hotel and we went out every day. I was desperately trying to get as much dance training as possible. There never seems to be enough time to learn a skill like this and it was very discouraging. But then you go out on stage and very little acting is required because everything is around you. You’re just playing on the chemistry that already existed between the guys: you know, running down the catwalk, jumping through the crowd, and having your shirt taken off. I mean, it’s very, very surreal,” she said.

The film is now available in Colombia on Prime Video.
