Italian Police Unveil “New Face” of Fugitive Mafia Boss Giovanni Motisi

The Italian Police have released a new robotic portrait of Giovanni Motisi, the last great escapee from the Sicilian mafia known as “Cosa Nostra.” Motisi, who has been on the run since 1998, is considered to be a highly dangerous fugitive and is included in the country’s special research program.

The new portrait, created with the ‘Age Progression’ system, shows a potential updated version of Motisi’s face based on specific anthropometric profiles that characterize his family. This latest development is part of ongoing efforts to locate and capture the 65-year-old mafia boss, who is believed to have been a trusted assassin for Totó Riina, a top boss of Cosa Nostra during the violent reign of the mafia in the 1980s and 90s.

According to the police statement, the new identikit will help investigators narrow down their search for Motisi and seek the assistance of the public in locating him. The fugitive, also known as ‘U pacchiuni’ (the fat one), is considered one of the most powerful mafia bosses in Palermo and is now the most wanted fugitive in Italy following the arrest of Matteo Messina Denaro, another Cosa Nostra boss.

Motisi has been sentenced twice to life imprisonment for the murders of several police officers and commissioners. However, he reportedly distanced himself from the mafia leadership in 2002, leading to his removal from power within the organization.

Efforts to bring Motisi to justice continue, with the Italian Police urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward and assist in his capture.
