NEW YORK “A smart mother is good. Two is better. All over the world, single mothers are finding a solution to their problems: living together, sharing expenses, as in a commune. Except that instead of being made up of flower children, they are populated by women, single mothers, divorcees, widows.

They are called mommunes and it is a phenomenon that is beginning to spread in the USA, where more than 300,000 are looking for a common home with other singles with whom to share expenses, bills and take care of their children.
