The Maduro regime reacted to Brazil’s statement on the electoral process in Venezuela: “It is interventionist”

The Venezuelan regime has lashed out at Brazil for what it described as interference in its internal affairs. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Brazil expressed concerns about the electoral process in Venezuela, specifically the obstacles faced by the main anti-Chavista bloc in registering their candidacy. The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry condemned the statement, accusing Brazil of being influenced by the United States and displaying ignorance about the political reality in Venezuela.

The Maduro regime emphasized its commitment to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and criticized Brazil for not showing concern about recent assassination and destabilization attempts in Venezuela. In response, the opposition party Vente Venezuela denied the accusations of involvement in any assassination attempt, calling it a ploy by the regime to justify further persecution.

Brazil’s statement referenced the agreements of Barbados, signed between the Maduro regime and the opposition coalition, and highlighted concerns about the electoral process in Venezuela. This criticism aligns with similar concerns raised by other countries in the region, including Colombia.

Despite the criticism, Venezuela has affirmed that it will proceed with the presidential elections on July 28 without any foreign intervention. The situation between Venezuela and Brazil continues to escalate, with both sides standing firm in their positions.
