The Screen Actors Guild announced the nominees for 30th edition of the SAG Awardswhich will take place on February 24th and will be broadcast on Netflix.
Unsurprisingly, the films “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie” are on the list, as are the series “Succession” and “The Bear”, recently awarded Golden Globes in the Drama and Comedy categories.
Since its inception in 1995, only four films have won the Best Picture Oscar without receiving a SAG nomination for casting: Braveheart (1995), The Shape of Water (2017), Green Book (2018) and Nomadland (2020).
I enjoyed seeing HBO’s delicious “The Gilded Age” in the running as a Drama Series. It will lose to “Succession”, of course, but it’s good to know it was remembered.
