Boldone Tower. A collision on the track with other motorbikes, the fall, the rescue and the race against time at the medical center of the “Ricardo Tormo” Circuit in Valencia, Spain. But it is precisely here that the life of Andrea Bergamelli, born in Torre Boldone in 1988, ended.
The news immediately spread across the motorcycling network: “The Italian rider was involved in a multiple accident on the straight of the Cheste track – the official press release from the Valencia circuit –. Bergamelli was immediately rescued on the track and transported to the track’s medical centre, where he died. The “Ricardo Tormo” Circuit of Valencia deeply regrets the loss of Andrea Bergamelli and sends its condolences to his family, friends and the Gully Racing organization.”
His partner Lucia Mileno communicated the sad news to Andrea’s large family. All the pilot’s family members gathered in his parents’ house in Torre Boldone. Everyone remembers him as a cheerful and joking young man. Andrea worked as a plumber for a company that took care of the plumbing systems of high fashion shops, even though his true passion was motorbikes. Whenever he could, he took part in amateur competitions. Other sporting passions were cycling – he loved the long rides that he shared with his partner Lucia – and football: he played for the Argonese five-a-side football team and was the assistant coach.
Rino Tomaselli on the Facebook page Sei di Torre Boldone if… he remembers it like this: “There is news that you would never want to receive, let alone report, but I think it is right to pay a greeting to a Torreboldone native born in 1988. Andrea Bergamelli Andrea leaves us. Today on the “Ricardo Tormo” circuit in Valencia he died following a racing accident. He was passionate and an amateur motorbike rider. I believe that anyone who knew him cannot remain indifferent to this news. Andrea was full of life, a life always lived with a smile and the desire to overcome limits and fears. He was really good. May the earth be light on him. Heartfelt condolences to all his family members and to those who loved him so much.”
