U.S. intelligence believes that about 75 percent of Russian troops stationed on the border with Ukraine are now inside Ukraine.
The Russian military convoy on Monday was so large that it was not fully captured in satellite images. In some areas, vehicles have as many as two or three rows.
It is unclear whether all the vehicles in the convoy are heading to the same final destination, or whether the army will disperse and surround Kyiv.
Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States also accused Putin’s forces of using banned vacuum bombs in the capital, Kyiv, overnight.
“I have never been so proud of our soldiers. Our soldiers are heroes. Civilians are building fortifications. People are taking Arms and ready to defend our home, defend our family, our future and our country.”

“I’m really proud. We’re not interested in how strong the Russian military is; we’re ready to fight, we’re ready to die for our homeland. Because this is our future. Someone wants to come to our home and steal our future.”
When asked how long Kyiv could hold out, he replied: “As long as we survive… we don’t want to go back to the former Soviet Union. We want a free, democratic country. We are fighting for it – for us We don’t need war. We are a peaceful country, a peaceful people.”
Ukraine on Monday announced its bid to join the European Union, a move sure to further anger Putin.
On Tuesday morning, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said the G7 would urge the international community to unite against Russia. The Group of Seven nations — Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. — and their partners also agreed to help Ukrainian refugees after Russia invaded Ukraine, Kishida said.
Kishida said any use of nuclear force is unacceptable.
