Two workers, who worked in a house near that of Émile’s grandparents on the day of his disappearance, were the subject of investigation. No “evidence” has been discovered at this stage.

The investigation into the disappearance of little Emile continues. A lead concerning two Bulgarian workers who participated in masonry work in a house, located 200m from that of the grandparents of the child who disappeared last July in Haut-Vernet, “is not completely closed”, we learned BFMTV from a source close to the investigation.

The workers were, however, not taken into custody and no “probative evidence” was discovered at this stage, again according to our source.

A concrete slab destroyed with a jackhammer

On July 8, the day little Émile disappeared, the two workers continued, with a dump truck, the work begun three weeks before in this house which had just been purchased.

On September 12 and 13, the gendarmes destroyed a concrete slab laid during the work using a jackhammer. And for good reason, an anomaly was detected after a sonar scan a few days after the child’s disappearance.

In the end it was just a layer of placo which concealed “nothing notable”. The owner of the house, who was absent at the time of Emile’s disappearance, confided that he did not know the child’s family “nearly or remotely”.

“This is one avenue among many others, we are continuing to raise doubts,” adds our source close to the investigation.

20 full-time investigators

Concerning the searches carried out in November in the houses of Haut-Vernet, the investigators are continuing their “long work of analysis”. As for investigations on the ground, “there will be others in the future,” warns this source.
