JERUSALEM – A third of the Arab world is at risk of hunger, and following the outbreak of the pandemic, five million more inhabitants of the region suffer from malnutrition problems. This is revealed by a new report from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.
According to the document, of the 420 million individuals living in Arab countries between the Middle East and Africa – including Saudi Arabia, Libya, Yemen, Egypt, Palestinian Territories, Syria, Jordan and Algeria – in 2020, 141 million experienced problems related to lack of food safety, ten million more than the previous year.
